Sophomore Eric Carlo (Nashua South) is doing double-duty at Keene State. He is not only a thrower for the Owls’ track and field team, he is also the first captain of the school’s eSports Rocket League team.
The indoor track season will begin in early December but the Owls’ eSports team is 5-3 on the year.
The Franklin Pierce football team (5-5) was well represented by Nashua North alums. Freshman Jordyn Raisanen Andino was a reserve linebacker for the Ravens. Redshirt sophomore Jessy Allen was a reserve offensive lineman.
Freshman Lilly Baker-Ollivierra (Nashua North) is a member of the powerhouse Franklin Pierce University women’s soccer team.
The Ravens are 18-3-1 and have already won the Northeast-10 tournament championship and have reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division 2 Tournament with wins over Wilmington (2-0) and Southern New Hampshire (2-0).
On Dec. 1, the Ravens will take on Jefferson in a bid to reach the Elite 8.
Sophomore Alex Kopopoulos (Nashua South) was a member of the the Southern New Hampshire women’s soccer team, which posted a 10-2-6 record this season. The Penwomen were defeated, 2-0, to Franklin Pierce on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Division 2 Tournament.
Freshman Denis Wainaina (Nashua South) is coming off the bench for the Keene State men’s basketball team. The Owls are 3-0 to start the year.
Wainaina, a 6-10 center, has appeared in one game, with a rebound and a blocked shot in seven minutes of action.
Senior Aryanna Murray (Nashua South) is a member of the Keene State women’s basketball team (0-3). Murray, a 5-8 guard, has appeared in one game, so far, with an assist.
Also on the Owls’ roster is freshman Morgan Gillis (Nashua South), who earned honorable mention All-State status as a senior at Nashua South and was the school’s Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Freshman Ayla Pullen (Nashua South) is a diver for the Keene State swimming and diving team (1-2).
In the first scored meet of the season, a loss to St. Michael’s, Pullen placed second in the 3-meter springboard diving event. She placed third in the same event and fourth in the 1-meter springboard against Bentley.
