NASHUA, NH – On her visit to the Granite State Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan wasted no time jumping into the issues of the day and voicing her support for Vice President Kamal Hariss’s candidacy. As Co-Chair of the Harris campaign, she came to New Hampshire for the “Defending Reproductive Freedom – Fireside Chat” event hosted by former NH House speaker Terie Norelli. The conversation was held at Liquid Therapy Brewery in front of a crowd of primarily women supporters.
Terie Norelli welcomed the Governor and then began the dialogue by saying, “While the top of this ticket has changed the stakes in this election have not. This November Granite Staters, in fact, voters all across our country will have a choice of two starkly different visions for our future,” Whitmer said.
“President Kamala Harris would have a vision that brought our country forward, that would strengthen democracy, that would protect reproductive freedom and that would ensure that every person has the opportunity not to just get by but get ahead,” added Whitmer.

The governor began by explaining her reason for appearing and her support for Vice President Harris for president. Her defense of reproductive rights is both personal and political.
“I am here on a mission not just for me and people from my generation but a mission on behalf of my daughter and her generation,” Whitmer said.
“That’s why this election matters, that’s why every election matters frankly but this one takes on an even heavier significance for us. We know where Donald Trump wants to take us We’ve been on that ride before and we know his goal of rolling back the reproductive freedom of women all across this country is real,” Whitmer said. “He secured the Dobbs decision by three appointments he made to our United States Supreme Court, all of whom lied to Congress that Roe was settled.”
