The safer choice in this year’s governor’s race couldn’t be clearer: Vote for Joyce Craig

To the Editor:

As we get closer and closer to the elections, one thing could not be clearer for many of us: when it comes to gun safety, this election is a choice between life and death. Advocates like me have spent the last decade fighting for common sense gun safety laws in New Hampshire – but time and time again the majority of our lawmakers, including our governor, continue to block them and put the gun lobby’s “guns everywhere” agenda ahead of our safety.

Granite Staters have the opportunity to finally make New Hampshire safer from gun violence by electing Joyce Craig, a gun sense champion, to the Governor’s office. As a fellow volunteer with Moms Demand Action, we’ve seen just how committed she is to keeping our communities across New Hampshire safe from gun violence – and we know that she will do just that if she is elected to Governor.

Our state lags behind all of our neighboring New England states, and we rank only 39th in the entire country for the strength of our gun safety laws. We know that more guns don’t make us safer – if they did, our country would be the safest in the world. It’s time that New Hampshire makes progress to address the crisis of gun violence in our communities, so that we don’t have to worry about the safety of our loved ones everyday.

A safer New Hampshire is possible, and it starts with electing a gun sense governor on Tuesday.
