Patients will continue to have uninterrupted access to care and services.

NASHUA, NH – St. Joseph Hospital announced Friday that a contract agreement has been reached with Anthem New Hampshire. The agreement ensures patients of St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, as well as affiliated outpatient facilities and practices, will continue to have uninterrupted access to the care and services with their trusted providers.

The announcement came after negotiations between Anthem and St. Joseph Hospital failed to reach a contract agreement, which resulted in the December announcement that thousands of New Hampshire participants would no longer be covered. The NH Insurance Department agreed to assist in negotiations at that time.

What the Contract  Agreement Means:

  • St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua as well as affiliated outpatient facilities and practices will continue to be an in-network provider for Anthem members.
  • Patients will continue to have access to the provider(s) they currently see along with the full range of inpatient and outpatient services offered by St. Joseph Hospital.
  • Patients will continue to access care the same way, using the same methods they use today.

“We appreciate the patience Anthem members throughout New Hampshire have shown during this process,” said John Jurczyk, FACHE, President, St. Joseph Hospital. “We are confident the extra time we spent in discussions with Anthem New Hampshire helped ensure we continue to provide our patients with the highest quality care and best patient experience possible.

“In addition, our discussions have opened dialogue on ways that we can work together to deliver high quality care to the residents of southern New Hampshire.  Many have made this resolution possible, and we would like to particularly thank New Hampshire Insurance Department Commissioner DJ Bettencourt for facilitating conversations leading to this outcome.

“As always, we are deeply grateful for the trust our patients have placed in us and for the opportunity to care for those who need it most.”
