NASHUA, NH – The Board of Education approved Superintendent Dr. Andrade’s recommendation to appoint Trisha Kaufmann as the principal of New Searles Elementary School at the board meeting on Monday night.

Kaufmann has been the Assistant Principal at New Searles since 2020. Kaufmann and current New Searles principal, Helayne Talbott, will step into their new roles on July 1, Talbott having been named last month the new Director of Career and Technical Education at Nashua High School North and Nashua High School South.

“I’m really pleased that we’re promoting from within and having that continuity for this community,” board member Heather Raymond said. “It’s good to keep that institutional knowledge.”

“It’s been a real pleasure to see you in action the last couple of years and your leadership has been just incredible,” Andrade said. “We’ve really just seen your interpersonal skills emerge, your communication [and] building relationships. You have tough shoes to follow with Helayne but there’s a solid foundation there and I know that you have the skills and expertise to take that school to even new heights.”
