NASHUA, NH – The Rivier University Office of Global Engagement is hosting a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration from Sept. 7 -15 at Memorial Hall on their Nashua Campus. This is the third year they have held the event.
The annual 10-day festival is celebrated by Hindu devotees all over the world. It is a celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh one of Hinduism’s most revered personalities. The festival is held daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the event room on the second floor.

A temporary public stage called a pandal has been set up in the hall for Hindu Bala (priests) from the Hindu Temple of NH here in Nashua to conduct Prana Prastishta, a ceremony invoking Ganesh’s presence.
Daily Pooja is offered at 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day. Pooja is a worship ritual for Hindu devotees to offer homage and prayer to one or more deities, to honor guests, and to celebrate special occasions like Ganesh Chaturthi. Prasadam Distribution, the sharing of food blessed by the deity, will occur during each day of the celebration.
