Police blotter: Gunshots fired on Trinity Drive; homeless man out on bail faces robbery charge

September 27

Casey

Nashua Police Department arrested Michael Casey, 67, of Trinity Drive, on Friday for reckless conduct, a Class B Felony.

On September 27, 2024, at 7:40 p.m. officers were dispatched to Trinity Drive for the report of an intoxicated and disorderly male who allegedly discharged a firearm outside of his residence.  Neighbors and other occupants of Casey’s residence reported hearing multiple gunshots discharged by Casey, who then returned to his residence. Casey cooperated with officers at the scene and he was safely detained and later arrested without further incident.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division furthered the investigation.  Detectives conducted interviews with several witnesses who heard the gunshots and observed the incident.  There were several firearms located and seized by detectives. 

Casey was held on preventative detention pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit District Division – Nashua Court on September 30, 2024, at 1 p.m.


September 29

Abukar

Nashua Police Department arrested Ahmed Abukar, 28, (no fixed address) for Robbery, a Class B Felony while currently out on bail from unrelated charges.

On September 29, 2024, at 10:07 am, officers responded to the intersection of Temple Street and Main Street for a reported robbery.  Officers made contact with a juvenile victim who reported being assaulted by a male and had several items taken from him.  The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect.

Officers located a male who matched the description given by the victim.  The suspect was within the homeless encampment near the Temple Street footpath.  The male was identified as Abukar and he was in possession of the stolen items and was arrested at the scene.  At the time of Abukar’s arrest, he was in possession of heroin and/or fentanyl.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division furthered the investigation.  Abukar was additionally charged with Falsifying Physical Evidence, a Class B Felony, and Acts Prohibited: Possession of a Controlled Drug (Fentanyl), a Class B Felony.

Abukar is being held at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections on preventative detention pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on September 30, 2024, at 1 p.m.
