Police Blotter: Assault with a frying pan; burglary on Kinsley St., man charged with assault of ex

NASHUA, NH – The following arrests were made by Nashua Police over the past week:

Woman charged with hitting relative on head with frying pan

Layne/NPD

On December 27, 2024, the Nashua Police Department arrested 56-year-old Marleen Layne of Nashua on six (6) counts of Domestic Violence, 2nd Degree Assault, a Class B Felony.  

On December 27, 2024, officers responded to a residence for the report of a Domestic Assault involving a female victim who was hit in the head with a frying pan.  Layne was identified as the suspect.  Officers located a female victim within the residence; the victim was related to Layne and suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the assault.  Layne was arrested by the officers at the scene. 

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division furthered the investigation and recovered a frying pan within the residence. 

Layne was held on preventative detention and was arraigned in the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on December 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

Man faces 4 counts burglary, drug possession

On December 26, 2024, the Nashua Police Department arrested 35-year-old Jason Marrotte of Nashua on a felony warrant for Burglary, a Class B Felony.  

On September 29, 2024, officers responded to Kinsley Street for the report of a burglary.  Marrotte was identified as the suspect in the Burglary.  Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were assigned to further the investigation.  As a result of their investigation, an arrest warrant for Marrotte was obtained. At the time of his arrest, he was additionally charged with four (4) counts of Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Drug, Subsequent Offense, a Class A Felony.  

Marrotte was held on preventative detention and was arraigned in the 9th Circuit – District Division – Nashua Court on December 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

Man accused of assaulting, strangling ex partner

On December 28, 2024, the Nashua Police Department arrested 28-year-old Sean Flanagan of Nashua on a felony warrant for Second Degree Assault (Strangulation) – Domestic Violence, a Class B Felony. 

On December 3, 2024, officers responded to a local hospital to speak with a female victim who wanted to report a domestic violence assault.  The victim told Officers that Flanagan, a former partner, had physically assaulted her and strangled her at a residence in Nashua. 

The investigation was furthered by Officers assigned to the Special Investigations Division – Domestic Violence Unit.  As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Flanagan, charging him with Second Degree Assault (Strangulation) – Domestic Violence. 

Flanagan was held on Preventative Detention and was arraigned in the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
