NASHUA, NH – The United Way of Greater Nashua, through its Tech Connect United program, is hosting a free public workshop, “Protecting Your Identity Online,” designed to help community members safeguard their digital identities. This event will take place on Wednesday, November 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Nashua Public Library, located at 2 Court Street, Nashua, NH.

In 2023, identity theft led to nearly $12.5 billion in losses across the U.S., with a significant impact on senior citizens. This workshop will provide essential insights on the components of digital identity—personal, financial, biometric, and behavioral information—and practical steps for protection.

Topics covered will include:

  • Best practices for password security and management
  • Recognizing phishing, spam, and other digital threats
  • Safe online shopping, including identifying secure websites and payment options
  • Social media privacy tips to limit personal information exposure

Tech Connect United, a United Way initiative, is committed to bridging the digital divide, helping the community gain the digital literacy skills they need to engage with technology safely and confidently.
