NASHUA, NH – Best-selling author Stephen Puleo will talk about his new book, The Great Abolitionist: Charles Sumner, at the Friends Annual Meeting in November. Mr. Puleo tells the story of Charles Sumner, one of the most influential non-presidents in American history. Sumner denounced slavery’s evils to all who would listen and demanded that it be wiped out of existence. He blazed the trail on the country’s long, uneven, and ongoing journey toward becoming a more perfect union.
Before the talk, during a brief business meeting, the Friends will review their activities of the past year, as well as take nominations for three Board positions. This is a free event sponsored by the Friends of the Nashua Public Library. No registration is needed. Mr. Puleo’s books will be available for purchase and signing, thanks to Balin Books. Light refreshments provided.
