NASHUA, NH – Earlier this spring, the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA) announced that its Executive Director, Tricia Soule, would be stepping down for a new opportunity in Taos, New Mexico. Following this announcement, the NHBCA Board of Directors unanimously voted to sunset the organization, citing the completion of its 41-year mission to build strong ties between the business and arts communities.
As part of the dissolution process, the NH Charitable Trust Division requires the organization to choose another nonprofit to receive its remaining assets. After thoughtful discussion, the Board voted to donate the NHBCA’s remaining financial and physical assets to Positive Street Art (PSA), a dynamic nonprofit based in Nashua. Founded in 2012, PSA’s mission is to inspire passion for urban arts while uplifting underrepresented voices. Through public art, education and community engagement, they have been transforming spaces and lives across New Hampshire.
According to NHBCA Board Chair Tom Raffio, “Positive Street Art stands out as a leader in community-centered, impactful arts programming. We share a deep commitment to building collaborative partnerships across artistic disciplines. We are particularly happy to know that our modest contribution may help bring to life mural initiatives similar to those we have championed in recent years. The donated technology, office supplies, and remaining funds (after fulfilling our financial commitments) will support Positive Street Art’s ongoing efforts.”
Raffio added, “We wish Positive Street Art all the best as they continue to inspire a passion for urban arts in New Hampshire. We hope this donation carries forward a little of the NHBCA spirit within their organization.”
PSA Executive Director Cecilia Ulibarri expressed gratitude on behalf of Positive Street Art, saying, “We are truly grateful that the NHBCA Board has chosen us from the many deserving arts nonprofits in the state.”
