NASHUA, NH – Nashua Veterans Promise is a nonprofit group with a mission to improve the quality of life for Nashua’s Veterans. Every year they organize a holiday decorating contest for the residents of a Dalainas House.
They need some extra help this year and are seeking donations of Christmas decorations to “deck the halls”.
At the top of their wish list are garlands, wreaths, and ornaments. They have plenty of lights but their inventory of ornaments was accidentally disposed of this year so those are a top priority.
The group is seeking gift card donations, especially from local businesses to distribute to vets for the holidays. Amounts of $25, $50 and $75 will be graciously accepted.
In addition to the “Floor Wars” decorating contest at Dalainis House, they are hosting two other Holiday Veterans’ events. On December 15 they are hosting the Holiday For Veterans Open Mic/Mixology Fundraiser at 77 Sports Bar.
On Dec. 24th they are hosting a Christmas Eve Dinner for the Dailanis residents, in partnership with Joanne’s Kitchen, Soel Sistas, and Honey Baked Ham
Holiday decorations will be accepted from now until Dec. 17th. The donation drop-off locations are:
- Mayor’s Office 229 Main Street
- Caribbean Breeze Restaurant 233 Main Street
- Soel Sistas Restaurant 35 Temple Street
- Nashua Public Library 2 Court Street
- San Fransico Kitchen restaurant 133 Main Street
Dalainis House is a 40-unit Veterans transitional housing apartment complex at 59 Factory Street operated by Harbor Care.
