NASHUA, NH – Doria Brown, the City of Nashua’s energy manager, was recently recognized as 2024 Young Professional Energy Champion as part of NH Energy Week.
Brown, 29, is the state’s youngest municipal energy manager, serving as the City of Nashua’s first-ever Energy Manager since 2019. In that time she has helped spearhead the creation of the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire, making Nashua a founding member of the CPCNH, and bringing Community Power to Nashua’s residents.
“We’re so pleased that Doria is getting the recognition she deserves with this honor,” said Mayor Jim Donchess. “Her work in energy efficiency improvements has made multiple significant impacts for Nashua residents – from reducing our energy bills via the Nashua Community Power initiative, to integrating seven electric vehicles into the city fleet of buses and cars, including the first fully electric police animal control vehicle. Doria also advised on city building improvements involving solar panels and farms, including those used in school building upgrades,” he said.

NH Energy Week is an event organized by state energy partners and is dedicated to advancing a sustainable and equitable energy future for the Granite State. Their mission is noted as “rooted in four core principles: empowerment, equity, accessibility, and education.” The Energy Champion Awards recognize leaders and organizations advancing New Hampshire’s energy goals, honoring individuals and entities that make exceptional contributions to the state’s energy future.
Brown’s contributions also include helping to create Livable Nashua, the City’s sustainability plan; advising on energy efficiency measures for multiple municipal buildings; and ensuring energy efficiency rebates were obtained after those improvements were accomplished.
