NH Library Trustees Association Honors NPL for Outstanding Year of Innovation, Collaboration, and Community Impact
NASHUA, NH – The Nashua Public Library has been named the state’s 2024 Large Library of the Year by the New Hampshire Library Trustees Association.
The award recognizes NPL’s impressive growth in services and programs, enhanced equity work, and strong partnerships with dozens of local organizations, city departments, and other libraries.
“I am so pleased that our excellent staff is receiving this recognition of their hard work and dedication to serving the Nashua community,” said NPL Director Jennifer McCormack. “Every single member of our team contributes to making us a great library,” said McCormack.
The library is hosting an award reception on Tuesday, October 29, at 3 p.m. outside its newly refreshed Large Print Reading Room to celebrate. All are welcome to attend the ceremony, which includes a presentation of the award, tours of the library, free NPL swag, and light refreshments.
Among its many notable achievements over the past year, the library launched a new website and scheduling tools for its meeting rooms and tech help service, debuted a seed library and puzzle exchange, created spaces and events for the neurodiversity community, and partnered to host Nashua’s Multicultural Festival, Sustainability Fair, and Farmers Market.
“This recognition for our city’s library is well-deserved, and I am so proud of our Nashua Public Library and its staff,” said City of Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess. “With the many improvements, expansions of current services and the creation of new ones, and the many unique offerings made available to our residents, the Nashua Public Library continues to enhance and prove its role as a key community resource for all ages. We are grateful for all they do,” he said.
