NASHUA, NH – Nashua held its first Summer Stroll event downtown on Saturday.  Main Street was blocked off from the East and West Pearl intersection, two blocks to the Factory/Temple intersection. and became a large pedestrian mall. The space was filled with vendor tents, a bandstand, multiple food trucks, and art activity areas. Mother Nature provided a classic warm summer afternoon with a pleasant breeze.

Presented by the city in partnership with Positive Street Art and funded entirely through sponsorships and vendor fees,  PSA transformed the Main Street Methodist Church lawn into an art hub with paint battles and other creative activities.

Entertainment was presented on the main stage beginning with Theo Martinez, of HTM Dance, giving free dance lessons on Main Street.  He warmed the crowd up for the three band performances that followed the Latin Logic Salsa Band, Aces & Eights, and 4 R Souls’

A crowd estimated at more than 4,000 people “strolled.” Regardless of the exact number the volume attracted to downtown made this a successful inaugural Summer Stroll. It was competing with multiple summer events like the Lowell Folk Festival the second-largest, free folk festival in the country making the volume of attendance impressive.

Multiple city agencies and personnel worked to make the event successful and secure. Many City Officials, candidates, and elected officials attended and spent much of the day talking with constituents.

The Nashua Ink Link hosted a small information table in front of Jajabelles. Publisher Carol Robidoux greeted hundreds of folks and introduced many to our news publication. The friendliness and the crowd vibe made our crew feel welcome in the Gate City.
