NASHUA, NH – Nashua Area Artists’ Association’s ArtHub Gallery is celebrating their reopening at their new location at 98 Main Street with a soft reopening on Wednesday, May 14, and a grand reopening reception on Saturday May 17 from 2 to 7 p.m.
ArtHub Gallery closed the door to their previous location on East Pearl Street after the start of the pandemic.
“The first month we opened, we did really really well. The second month, Covid hit. We tried to stay open for about a year, we had the masks and stuff, but it just wasn’t working,” co-manager and pastel artist Jacqueline Barry said. “So we closed it down for a couple of years and then this became available.”
Barry, along with co-manager and textile artist Sonia Lee Gilmore, feel that being in Downtown Nashua in the space that had previously been the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s gallery, is the optimal location for the gallery.
“This gives us an opportunity to get more involved in the community like we were in the other galleries, like [with] the scarecrow project, Plaid Fridays, Small Business Saturday, [and] the Chocolate Stroll,” Barry said.
While their previous gallery only allowed for 2D art to be displayed, the new space is conducive to show art of all kinds and forms, such as pottery, woodwork, metal, beads, photography, watercolors, fiber art, jewelry, and more.

“There aren’t many places where [3D artists] can display their work,” Gilmore said. “[At art shows], they’re putting up a tent, putting everything out, and then taking it back down. It’s a lot easier here.”
The space will also include a kitchen area and classroom for featured artists to lead demonstrations and workshops.
The gallery will display new exhibits every two months, rotating work out every month to showcase artists from all over the world, from Ukraine and China, to Lebanon and Egypt.
Their opening spring-theme exhibit will be on display in time for the opening, where the community will be able to check out the pieces and meet the artists who crafted them.
