NASHUA, NH – The 4th annual Paige Parkinson Food Drive will be held this Saturday, October 5, at Greeley Park in Nashua from 12 – 4 p.m. The event honors the life of Nashua native Paige Parkinson, who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in June 2021. All proceeds are donated to the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Previous drives have collected between 3-4,000 pounds of food, along with more than $1,500 in financial donations.
Paige was an amazingly giving person with an adventurous spirit. The summer before her senior year at Rivier University, she traveled to Greece and decided to volunteer at a refugee camp there. She quickly discovered how thankful people were for any help she could provide. She was hooked on helping those in need. A few years later Paige became a realtor at Keller Williams. She absolutely loved helping out with food drives and coat drives at their Bedford office.
After her fatal motorcycle accident, we needed to do something to help with our unimaginable pain. Paige’s brother, Evan, came up with the idea of holding a food drive in her memory. Evan owns Summit Landscape Construction and we decided to fill one of his trailers. Somehow, with the help of family and friends, we pulled off a successful first food drive in October 2021.
All of our donations help to support the Nashua Soup Kitchen. It’s a worthy cause and they need everything. We collect non-perishable food, diapers, personal hygiene products, and $10 gift cards from local grocery stores. We couldn’t do this without the help of our family, friends, and strangers.
Please join us on October 5 to help the Nashua Soup Kitchen and our local community.
Let’s fill the trailer together again!
