Learn about Volunteer Opportunities with Meals on Wheels and Senior Companions

MERRIMACK, NH – The United Way of Greater Nashua invites community members to join “Giving Back through Meal Delivery and Friendly Visits” on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Merrimack Public Library. This free event will explore the impact of two essential programs—Meals on Wheels and Senior Companions—and highlight ways volunteers can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors.

Attendees will learn how the Meals on Wheels program provides home-delivered, nutritious meals to help seniors stay healthy and independent. In addition, the Senior Companions program offers friendly visits and support for older adults who might otherwise feel isolated. Both programs rely on volunteers to ensure seniors receive the care and companionship they need to thrive.

Event Details:

“This event is a great way to discover how small actions—like delivering a meal or spending time with someone—can have a huge impact,” said Sara Ceaser, Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement at United Way of Greater Nashua. “Whether you’re interested in volunteering or know someone who could benefit from these services, this is an opportunity to connect and learn more.”

In addition to hearing about volunteer opportunities, attendees will also get details on how to access Meals on Wheels and Senior Companions services for themselves or loved ones.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
