As the number of people experiencing homelessness in the area continues to grow – requiring the time and attention of city staff and departments – Concord’s committee to end homelessness is setting forth a concrete agenda.
Personnel from the Nashua Public Library, Nashua school district and Public Health and Community Services went before the Ad Hoc Capital/Debt Committee to present their upcoming projects, plans and needs.
YHDP is a two-year grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to end youth and young adult homelessness. Once a request for proposals is released, local agencies will be able to submit proposals for projects that in some way focus on housing for youth between the ages of 18 and 25.
“The funds made available today will help to ensure a coordinated statewide approach to tackling homelessness and that no individual across the Granite State goes without access to support,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “Coupled with our InvestNH investments to increase access to affordable and workforce housing, New Hampshire is making strides in combatting homelessness.”
