The Board of Trustees of the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) has appointed Alfred Williams as interim president of Nashua Community College (NCC) while conducting a search for a president to succeed Lucille Jordan, long-time leader who passed away in December of 2024. Williams will continue his current role as president of River Valley Community College, with a main campus in Claremont and academic centers in Lebanon and Keene, until a successor is hired at NCC.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office is collaborating with New Hampshire Homeland Security and Emergency Management, another division of the New Hampshire Department of Safety, and the New Hampshire Department of Education to contact every school district to arrange visits to more than 600 schools in the state. In a recent survey, 75% of responding schools shared they did not have carbon monoxide alarms. State employees will install alarms at schools and share resources with families.

This funding comes through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) Program and the Youth Homeless Demonstration Program (YHDP), which work with nonprofits, states and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, families and youth, as well as individuals fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.
