Recently, I’ve been remiss in my visits to breweries. But that doesn’t mean we have nothing to talk about. Indeed, we’ve got two very relevant topics:

Of all the breweries I have written about, Omnium Brewing is, on the basis of flavor, at the very top of the list. But let’s back up a bit…
Over the next few evenings, all the planets in the solar system will be visible in the night sky at the same time. And here in southern New Hampshire we’re forecast to have clear skies at sunset on Saturday and Sunday, potentially providing some fantastic viewing.
Ed was born in Nashua in 1924. As a kid he skated on the Merrimack River when it froze over, which he says used to happen far more often than today. He and friends jumped trains in Nashua and rode them further north. Remember, Ed would have been 16 years old in 1940.
Some of you will already know that one of the people responsible for the existence of this entire industry hails from right here in New Hampshire. OK, he wasn’t born here, but he made his home here, in Manchester, and worked for many years in Nashua, which is possibly more significant. Ralph Baer’s life was really quite remarkable.

That time is upon us. Summer’s in full swing, fall is approaching, and calendars are overflowing with events – some important, some merely fun, some recalling an earlier life more tied to the seasons of nature, where activities would of necessity turn to harvest and related chores.
Very comfortable space, much deeper than wide, bar at the back. Maybe 8 stools at the bar. Plenty of tables, some high tops, some low. Some soft chairs near the front. The front is all plate glass giving an expansive east-facing view of Main Street. A bar-height counter runs across the inside of this window, fronted with plenty of stools so you can sit sipping your beer and gazing out at Main Street.
An update on Woodstacker Beer Company now that they’re settling into the neighborhood.
