You will get to experience the medieval “O Magnum Mysterium, a call and response of brass instruments in a perfect church setting. We heard a wonderful rendition of it at The Rex Theatre in Manchester last night but I can only imagine it in the hauntingly beautiful acoustics of this Nashua church location.

Guest Conductor David Upham explains the origin of several of the evening pieces as he leads the ensemble through a series of tunes from the 14th Century up through modern day familiar tunes like “March of the Toys” from Babes in Toyland and of course, Jingle Bell Rock.

Upham is recognized as an outstanding conductor of a wide variety of ensembles, leading performances hailed for their brilliance, warmth, and expression. He currently serves as the Music Director of the Great Bay Philharmonic Orchestra and the Director of Orchestral Activities at the University of New Hampshire, where he is also the founding Music Director of the UNH Youth Symphony Orchestra program.

Symphony NH started in Nashua, New Hampshire and Executive Director Deanna Hoying noted that “We wanted to make sure we had a holiday concert in Nashua so our dedicated patrons can enjoy the traditions with us.” So here’s your chance to keep it local.
