AMHERST, NH – If you are a dog lover, the place to be Sunday was at the Amherst Town Green where nearly 200 golden retrievers gathered with their humans for fun and games – and to raise awareness and funds for Operation Delta Dog.
The annual event is an opportunity to celebrate life-changing connections made by Operation Delta Dog, a Hollis-based non-profit organization that rescues homeless dogs and trains them to be service dogs for veterans with PTSD, TBI or MST.
Goldens competed in games including retrieving an item from a pool, doggie “Simon Says” where the goldens had to follow directions provided by the game show host.
A fashion show was held, a parade, contest for the youngest and oldest golden and then an opportunity for a group photo.
