PUBLISHER'S CORNER

My dad was an artist so I have my own way of looking at valuable art. I was reading about the above painting, found decades ago and filed away as "not important," but now considered a lost Picasso worth millions. It is definitely Picasso-looking.

But here's my thing: Picasso was just a man who expressed himself through drawing and painting. His style is unique, and there's something compelling about the well-defined albeit distorted figures.

But it is not worth millions. Nothing, in my opinion, is worth that much in human dollars.

We have skewed the worthiness of things and created a strange world where a football quarterback gets paid $60 million a year to throw a ball at other overpaid guys, while teachers tasked with equipping humans for living the rest of their lives with some measure of success is lucky to make $60,000 this year in Nashua.

So if that Picasso is worth $60 million, you can imagine what I believe the value of this painting - just one of many masterpieces by my dear old dad - is worth. That's right; priceless (but definitely more than $60 million!)

Goodlander, campaigning with Colorado Sen. Bennet: 'Our freedoms are on the line'

Bennet voiced his support for Goodlander by saying, “Maggie's instincts arise from the best impulses of something like that Gang of Eight negotiations where you have Republicans and Democrats sitting together for months and months trying to do the hard work of legislating for this country.”

“Maggie will be a breath of fresh air in this time. We got people at each other’s throats down there.  I think she will be able to reach across the aisle and get things done," he said.

“My Dad’s sense of him was that he was a staggeringly honest person for politics.  My Father committed his life to public service and so he was happy to work for an elected official who was as honest as he believed Jimmy Carter to be.”

“I would say that Jimmy Carter demonstrated both when he was President and particularly the years after he was President what it means to be a committed citizen of this country, to this democracy.

A candidate for Governor, a big city Mayor two housing advocates, an Executive Council candidate, a State Senator, and a State representative walk into an apartment building. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Joyce Craig and  Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess met with the team from  NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire (NWSNH) to tour the new apartment building at 249 Main Street
