I think we got our first color TV back in the day so we could watch astronauts landing on the moon. And I don't think the transmission was even in color.
I could Google it to check it but some days I prefer relying on my misty memories to the crisp, hard facts of AI robots. Anyway, I tell you this because a few days ago some rich guy who wasn't a lifelong astronaut went out into space and he did a "spacewalk." First of all, that seems so crazy to me. Second, I didn't hear much about it at the time it happened and 3., the big news seems to be that his spacesuit aka "Extravehicular Activity Suit," was minimalist and looked more like an Olympic bobsledder leotard than a man in space.
It's creating all the buzz.
Anyway the point is that we have normalized spacewalking. There is no more shock and awe over space - rockets apparently blast off or return to the Earth without curious masses watching the action.
And while I get it, it's kind of sad to me that we don't stop what we're doing to watch the millionaire floating around on a private spacewalk in his sleek EAS suit.

A recent survey conducted by the Saint Anselm College Survey Center (SACSC) at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) shows Republican Kelly Ayotte with a slight advantage as she enters the general election. The former U.S. Senator leads Democratic candidate and former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig by 3 points, with 46% to Craig's 43%. Both candidates have seen declines in popularity following negative primary campaigns, with Ayotte holding a 45%-50% favorability and Craig at 37%-36%.

Democratic congressional members, Democratic candidates, and party leaders gathered in a Nashua backyard Sunday to begin the home stretch to the general election campaign. Coming on the heels of last Tuesday's state primary and a party unity breakfast Thursday, this event was a canvass launch for the Harris-Walz campaign and the down-ballot ticket.Â
