PUBLISHER'S CORNER

"Lost in Space," one of the corniest TV shows on earth, came to mind as I read about the plight of 2 astronauts who have been "stranded" now for a couple of months. It was supposed to be the equivalent of "a three-hour tour" in space terms. Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were to go up in a Boeing Starliner and return in about a week or so. Instead, one small thing led to another and so now they are biding their time on the International Space Station while NASA, Boeing and SpaceX consider the best options for getting them back to terra firma.

It's apparently complicated.

Vox breaks it down for you here – unless you prefer something a bit more techno-geeky, then check out Ars Technica, which breaks it down even further.

I can't imagine a world where space travel is an every day thing, but with all the resources currently directed at this - and other - space missions, I guess "The Jetsons" were like a prophecy and "Lost In Space" was more than an oddly configured family with a rando persnickity scientist and a bossy robot; it was a sneak preview of things to come.

The front is all plate glass giving an expansive east-facing view of Main Street. A bar-height counter runs across the inside of this window, fronted with plenty of stools so you can sit sipping your beer and gazing out at Main Street.

Music can move you, save you, and I’m here to testify to that. And before I’m crucified for my taste in music, it’s worth noting that mostly (not all the time, but mostly) the style or genre doesn’t matter.
