PUBLISHER'S CORNER

The only thing about social media I can get behind these days are the occasional memes that make me smile. Like the hunter with a BB gun wearing a Walmart camouflage jacket, with the bounty of his hunt - and his hunting cat. A perfect spoof of every hunting photo I've ever seen.

I happened to see it on the Lewiston Maine police page, but it's been circulating for years.

Even better for me are all the comments, which match the energy of the post - like "If I counted correctly, he’s one zuker over the limit," and "I think you misunderstand that it's a minimum limit because you can never get rid of these things," and "How do you know someone that has no friends? They are buying zucchini at the grocery store."

Lil' Free Farmstand: Fighting hunger and building community in Nashua

“All of our programs serve purposes within the community and they all tie back to the fact that we are trying to build community.  We are trying to connect neighbors.  We give the opportunity to see firsthand what is going on, to help in their community, to understand others in your community.” And they do that one box and one bag of fresh produce at a time.
Bement Center Camp, my happy place

Bement Center Camp, my happy place

The camp was called Bement Center Camp, and it was an Episcopal church camp, located in Charlton, Massachusetts.  (When I got old enough to drive I was surprised to find out how close Charlton was to Auburn.  It was such a magical place to me, and the anticipation was so great the drive seemed to take hours.  It was only 30 minutes.) Every year Pat and I spent two glorious weeksat Bement.
